SEP Mindanao campers follow Christ’s tracks
April 12, 2010 | Summer Enrichment Program
This year’s Summer Enrichment Program for Mindanao was a testimony of how God works in the camp and in the lives of those who serve and seek Him wholeheartedly. When the camp organizers rested on how God would provide for the whole camp, the Lord just made Himself more and more visible.
SEP Mindanao was held at the Campsite of Eden Nature Park in Toril, Davao City. The four-day event which started on April 1 was attended by 62 campers, 70% of them were first-timers.
Activities included dorm and camp-wide devotionals, Christian Living classes affirming campers of how Great the Love of the Lord is to die on the cross for all humanity, dorm chats with parents, dance classes, volleyball, soccer, trekking, and variety and dance night.
The trekking activity became one of the most memorable experiences in the camp as the campers had to walk on the mountain trail for 2 hours, reminding them of the sacrifice God had made by walking to Golgotha, carrying his heavy cross and thornful-crown while being pierced by sword.
The camp ended with baptisms of eight campers, highlighting these individual’s decision to accept the Lordship of Jesus Christ in their lives.
